Most Brits against strikes on Libya

THE British public is against air strikes on Colonel Gaddafi's regime, a poll revealed yesterday.
A survey of more than 2,000 people found that 43% thought it was wrong to take military action against the dictator.
The ITV News at Ten and Comres poll found that 35% agreed while 22% were undecided.
Almost 50% claimed the strikes were an *unnecessary risk while more than 50% said it would be unacceptable for soldiers to risk their lives protecting Libyan rebels.
The sexes were split over the attacks, with 44% of men saying it was the right thing and just 26% of women agreeing.
Opinion also varied by geography, with 29% in the North behind military action, compared to 37% in the South East.
