Chinese president Hu Jintao received, on Tuesday, President of the Royal Advisory Council for Sahara Affairs (CORCAS), Khalihenna Ould Errachid.

Ould Errachid told the press that he explained to the Chinese president the current problem in the Sahara and the Moroccan project HM King Mohammed VI proposed for the settlement of this question by granting large autonomy to Sahrawi provinces under Morocco's sovereignty.
CORCAS chairman added that the Chinese president said “China understands the concerns of the Moroccan people with regard to this question.”
Ould Errachid added that Jintao affirmed that "the Chinese government encourages a consensual solution to this problem through peaceful means and dialogue."
The Chinese president started on Monday a three-day official visit to Morocco
