2,000 millionaires move to Dubai during 2015
About 2,000 more millionaires moved to Dubai last year, taking the total number to 42,000, according to new research.
New World Wealth's report on millionaire migration showed that the number of millionaires living in the emirate rose by five percent last year.
It added that Dubai saw strong inflows from North Africa - including Egypt, Algeria, and Morocco - and Turkey.
The report also showed that the rest of the UAE added a further 1,000 millionaires last year, reaching a total of 72,000, up four percent.
Globally, the Australian cities of Sydney and Melbourne saw the largest inflows of millionaires, with 4,000 and 3,000 setting up home during 2015.
Both cities benefitted from millionaire inflows from China, Europe, the UK, US and South Africa, the report added.
New World Wealth's study also showed that Paris, Rome, Chicago and Athens saw the biggest millionaire outflows during 2015. The French capital topped the list with 7,000 moving away.
