'Reader's Digest' group to invest USD 18Mn in Morocco within three years

La Baule, France, June 28 - International editing group "Reader's Digest" will invest some USD 18Mn in Morocco during the three coming years, revealed, here Thursday, the CEO of the company’s French subsidiary, Emmanuel Lecoq.

"We intend to invest USD 18Mn in the 3 coming years, Mr. Lecoq told MAP on the sidelines of the second euro-Mediterranean conference on investment.
This decision comes after "Reader's Digest" had tested, last May, along with the Moroccan post office, book sale offers by mail and the group received "more than satisfactory orders."
"In five years this investment would generate a USD 1.5Bn turnover for the Moroccan market and yield more than USD 200Mn for the Moroccan Post Office," Mr. Lecoq added noting that "Morocco has a great source market potential and our objective now is to develop it."
He also noted that they were “good reasons” that encouraged the group to settle down in Morocco, such as a French-speaking readership as well as the effectiveness and the perfect organization of the Moroccan post network.
“This implantation should generate about 10,000 jobs,” he underlined, stressing that the group will also create a costumer care call center.
