Linda Detlor
I'm your average Canadian and I vigorously defend your right to wear a religious head scarf in this country! I hope you can move forward knowing you are supported by millions of open minded individuals who will feel only pity towards the unenlightened minority.
Jessica Leslie
As a Canadian I am appalled and embarrassed by the judge's treatment of you Rania. I am encouraged to see the number of Canadians showing their support for you here and hope you also feel supported and encouraged.
Dixie MacDonald
I am sorry this happened. A Jewish man would not be asked to remove his Kippah nor a Sikh Man his Turban.
Georges Gagnon
On ne devrait jamais être jugé sur nos convictions religieuses, c'est un choix personnel, selon sa croyance et ses valeurs.
Adnan Kapidžić
This is Canada, the land of freedom. The judge has to be reprimanded and held accountable for insulting the freedom of this Canadian and our Canadian values.

We are all backing you in making a claim against the judge that refused to hear you in court. That should never happen in this country. Let's make sure it never has to happen to anyone else.
Albertan Yous
clear human rights violation by an institution that is there to protect minorities and susceptible people. What does a Hijab have to do with the case anyways? For a judge that should be educated and un-biased, you have failed miserably. Show them Canada that we're better than that.
Katrina Easton
I was shocked and embarrassed by the treatment of Rania by that Quebec judge. So let's help her and show her this is the Canadian and Quebec way, not what that judge did.
Akela Hodgson
I was very upset when I heard what the judge did. I hope the person faces a professional conduct review and hopefully receives disciplinary action for being so prejudiced. I'd bet any amount of money the judge would have not said the same thing if a Jewish man chose to wear one of those small caps on their head. In the south eastern part of Manitoba which is sometimes called the Manitoba "bible belt", some Christian women wear a small scarf on their head. It has been explained to me by one of these women that it shows their submission to god and is a symbol and confirmation of their faith. No one cares when they choose to wear them. So why the fuss over Muslim ladies wearing head scarves? If we can see their face their true identify can be verified for court records. I know the funding goal has been reached. But this one small way I can show my support.
Mary Metcalfe
Would a Sikh RCMP officer be required to remove his turban in order to testify in a case? No. The scarf is a choice and Ms. El-Alloul should have a right to wear it as she wishes.
S Sharir
I am a Jew and a Canadian. What this judge did is not consistent with freedom of religion, nor with Canadian values. Raina, I hope that the support you are receiving from Canadians of all backgrounds tells you, and us, that we believe in the right of citizens to practice their religion, particularly when doing so harms no one else. Stay strong and best wishes to you.
