L’iPhone 5S d’Apple piraté dès sa sortie

Deux jours après sa sortie, l’iPhone 5S du géant américain Apple vient de connaître son 3ème coup dur (après les 2 failles découvertes dans son système d’exploitation iOS 7) avec la piratage de la technologie Touch ID qui permet à l’utilisateur de déverrouiller son iPhone avec son empreinte digitale.

Dans la vidéo, un hacker du célèbre groupe allemand "Chaos Computer Club" fait une démonstration de ce piratage de la technologie Touch ID de l’iPhone 5S (Voir ci-dessous les détails en anglais du procédé fournis par le CCC).

Apple a utilisé la technologie Touch ID comme argument commercial pour justifier le prix astronomique de son iPhone 5S alors qu’elle est assez facilement piratable comme en témoigne la démonstration du CCC.

The method follows the steps outlined in this how-to with materials that can be found in almost every household : First, the fingerprint of the enroled user is photographed with 2400 dpi resolution. The resulting image is then cleaned up, inverted and laser printed with 1200 dpi onto transparent sheet with a thick toner setting. Finally, pink latex milk or white woodglue is smeared into the pattern created by the toner onto the transparent sheet. After it cures, the thin latex sheet is lifted from the sheet, breathed on to make it a tiny bit moist and then placed onto the sensor to unlock the phone. This process has been used with minor refinements and variations against the vast majority of fingerprint sensors on the market.
