Le film American Sniper a connu un énorme succès commercial aux Etats-Unis ce qui révèle un côté sadique de la société américaine.

**Le succès du film American Sniper révèle le fascisme de la société américaine.**

Dans une excellente et longue chronique sur le film American Sniper intitulée "American Sniper Caters to a Deep Sickness Rippling Through Society", le brave journaliste américain Chris Hedges a souligné que le succès du film révélait le mal profond qui ronge la société américaine. Un mal dominé par le sadisme et le faschisme d’une partie importante du peuple américain qui fait fièrement l’apologie du terrorisme d’Etat.

Le journaliste Chris Hedges est brave pour son humanité, mais aussi pour son courage de critiquer ce film sachant que critiquer le film est vu comme une "trahison" par de nombreux fascistes et sadiques de la droite américaine qui vénèrent le sniper terroriste Chris Kyle. Plusieurs journalistes qui ont critiqué le film ont été diabolisés et/ou menacés de mort.

“American Sniper” lionizes the most despicable aspects of U.S. society—the gun culture, the blind adoration of the military, the belief that we have an innate right as a “Christian” nation to exterminate the “lesser breeds” of the earth, a grotesque hypermasculinity that banishes compassion and pity, a denial of inconvenient facts and historical truth, and a belittling of critical thinking and artistic expression. Many Americans, especially white Americans trapped in a stagnant economy and a dysfunctional political system, yearn for the supposed moral renewal and rigid, militarized control the movie venerates. These passions, if realized, will extinguish what is left of our now-anemic open society.
